Welsh Contralto Ceri Williams studied at the Welsh College of Music and Drama. She has been based in Germany since 2002 where she was a company member first at the National Theater in Mannheim and subsequently at the Deutsche Oper Berlin. Her recent guest engagements have included notable success as ERDA in 'Das Rheingold' in the Nationale Reisopera's new Ring Cycle; FRUGOLA in David Poutney's production of 'Il Tabarro' for the Opera National de Lyon; ANNA in Joachim Schlömer's production of 'Les Troyens' at theStaatstheater Stuttgart and ERSTE NORN in Robert Carson's production of Götterdämmerung' at the Teatro La Fenice, Venice. Her future engagements include a return to La Fenice as ERDA (Das Rheingold) and TISBE (La Cenerentola), ERDA (Siegfried), SHWERTLEITER (Die Walküre) and ERSTE NORN (Götterdämmerung') for the Nationale Reisopera. In concert, she has appeared with the Hallé Orchestra and Sir Mark Elder, the Huddersfield Choral Society and Adrian Leaper, the Gewandhausorchester Leipzig and Marc Albrecht and with the Orchestra of the English National Opera and Paul Daniel. Her forthcoming engagements include Verdi's 'Requiem' with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales and Owain Arwel Hughes. She has also sung under Donald Runnicles, Michail Jurowski, Peter Schneider, John Nelson, Jeffrey Tate, Ed Spanjard, Axel Kober, Adam Fischer, Stefano Ranzani, Jacques Lacombe and Yves Abel.
